PRINCIPLE OF THE TEST.
Obtaining processed tissue from the
TISSUE TEK VIP®5 Vacuum Infiltration Processor.
SPECIMEN REQUIRED.
All human tissue excised at surgery, outpatient clinics, and postmortems,
fresh or in fixative, along with a filled-out Tissue Examination Form
(U. S. Standard Form 515, USSF515).
REAGENTS, INSTRUMENTATION.
TISSUE TEK VIP®5 Vacuum Infiltration Processor.
STEP-BY-STEP DESCRIPTION.
1. End of process push drain.
2. Press drain button to drain paraffin.
3. Wait about five minutes, or until paraffin drains out of the
chamber or reservoir (pot on top of machine).
4. Lift top of pot, and take square basket out of reservoir pot;
place basket with tissue intact on top of machine. Cassettes will harden but
can be remelted down the following day.
5. Wait a few minutes (5 to 10 minutes), and push button to purge;
the machine is ready for next daily run.
6. These instructions are also posted on the front of the machine.
7. Do not turn the power off the processor.
